Back when ebay first started, it was fun, easy and very profitable. Fees were super-low and rating systems were accurate. I sold all of my daughter's high-end baby and toddler clothes on there, for sometimes more than I paid.
Another item I sold on ebay was custom clothing, in retro styles. Most of my customers were from California. And thirdly, the topic of the slideshow here, doll clothes! It was a lot of fun designing, sewing and shipping them out, a LOT to Japan.
Mostly Barbie scale, though some were what is called dollhouse scale, which is much smaller and very challenging to sew detailed clothing for. I sold those for quite a bit; those were US customers, generally Florida.
