There's a lot of processing labor that occurs with the proper harvesting of the berries from their stems, (and the cooking), so preserving them for the longest seems smarter than something that only lasts 2-8 weeks.
Here I have processed, cooked(boiled and simmered for several hours)and double strained, to finally pour into serving-size cubes, which will stay well for up to a year.
