Bassinet door

I like solving problems/improving functionality of items. My daughter was given this nice bassinet from a co-worker. For nursing in bed during the wee hours of the night, I told her it would be easier to just pull Xavier out, feed him, then put him back. She co-slept with me in a special walled pillow, and that's what I did. It's really just for the first couple of months, before they sleep through the night and so mom gets good sleep with only a gentle interruption. The bed is on risers so can't go any higher and the bassinet is on its lowest height.
I remove a few seams, part of the frame zipper, made some cuts, then put binding on all those raw edges. I stitched a jacket zipper along the top of the new door and above, then lastly put boning in the edges of the door flap for rigidity. The bassinet sits onto the bed a few inches, then the flap sits on top, so no chance of a gap between the two.

The Little Book of Answers part 4(animals)

There are a lot of expressions that we hear now and then; most we think we know the origin of, some we don't. For the most part we just don't ponder the origin of commonplace expressions because they are... common. The first thing I discovered when beginning to read this little gem of a book, was not only hadn't I considered where many common sayings come from, but my preconceived idea of their origin was actually wrong! Kinda embarrassing, but guessing I may not be alone in this. I thought it would be of value then to share some tidbits from this book. Audio format is nice, as you can multitask while listening to this. This is my first attempt at recording reading a book, so any constructive criticism is welcome!

Lots of big zucchini this year

Happy garden with all the heat, humidity, and occasional rain.
I made a yummy zucchini chocolate bread for my sister's visit. Going to air fry some of what I just picked.

Nature's eye candy

Some nice shots from the Library garden that I volunteer to take care of.
