Bluebirds are great. They eat mosquitoes, garden pests and weed seeds. They can have up to three cycles of babies during the season, so providing a nice house for that is, well, very nice.

Horizontal notches on the inside and outside give the momma and babies something to latch onto.
Spacing on the sides at the top give ventilation, and holes on the bottom for any drainage. One side swings open for cleaning. A bluebird likes a 1.5" diameter hole.
