I've always chopped the tough ends of my asparagus, but I've never shaved the stalks- game changer!
Sear in a hot cast iron for 3 minutes per side.
Drizzle olive oil, toss and cook for another minute, then lower heat.
Add salt, pepper and garlic powder. Stir to coat.
Add 1/4 cup of chicken broth and 1/8 cup of lemon juice. Steam/saute for 2 minutes... and you're done.
The dipping sauce for the pork loin chops is leftover canned pumpkin mixed with maple syrup, warmed up.
