My sister got me these LED string lights with mini clothespins. I thought they'd be perfect to hang my sewing machine presser feet from right near my sewing machine, rather than crowded together in containers. One aspect I didn't like though was that they were battery-powered.
It's very easy to convert a battery pack to AC; you just need a couple of items on hand, or ask an electronics hobbyist for the items.
1. String lights with on/off switch battery pack, resistor, variable 3-12v power adapter
2. Snip end off adapter, solder spliced positive lead to 100 ohm resistor
3. Solder resistor to positive terminal of battery pack, and solder negative wire to negative terminal.
4. Now I can plug in the lights, and never have to worry about changing the batteries.

For the most part we just don't ponder the origin of commonplace expressions because they are... common. The first thing I discovered when beginning to read this little gem of a book, was not only hadn't I considered where many common sayings come from, but my preconceived idea of their origin was actually wrong! Kinda embarrassing, but guessing I may not be alone in this. I thought it would be of value then to share some tidbits from this book. Audio format is nice, as you can multitask while listening to this. This is my first attempt at recording reading a book, so any constructive criticism is welcome!
