There's a little parking area of asphalt that is perfect for the hoop. The hoop was free. Brian saw it up the street. Free can be funny. For instance, there are no hooks to install any style of net, but there are little nails driven in. Problem is that they are on the underside. I can't figure out what kind of nwt would work with that.
So, using the nail heads as spacers, I wrapped some nylon rope around the hoop ring, and nails. I then hooked the metal net into that. We'll see how long that holds up. 😄

For the most part we just don't ponder the origin of commonplace expressions because they are... common. The first thing I discovered when beginning to read this little gem of a book, was not only hadn't I considered where many common sayings come from, but my preconceived idea of their origin was actually wrong! Kinda embarrassing, but guessing I may not be alone in this. I thought it would be of value then to share some tidbits from this book.
