My daughter wanted to see how my recent dress looked like on a human, rather than a teeny mannequin.
It's very cozy, fun to wear and fits well. Because of the thick fabric you don't want tailoring darts, but I will take in the side seams at the upper waist to grab some of the excess from the back.
The third pic shows the last alteration of the side seams, and took in the back seam as well. I think I will reduce the back seam at the waist a little bit more. 🙂

For the most part we just don't ponder the origin of commonplace expressions because they are... common. The first thing I discovered when beginning to read this little gem of a book, was not only hadn't I considered where many common sayings come from, but my preconceived idea of their origin was actually wrong! Kinda embarrassing, but guessing I may not be alone in this. I thought it would be of value then to share some tidbits from this book.
