I remember going into a Dick Blick store(an artist supply warehouse) when I was about 6 months pregnant with Malena. I found this adorable kit for creating a trick o treat bag, replete with glow-in-the-dark thread.
I am okay with saying I did a really good job on this bag. (I think when I was very young, up until the age of about 35, I thought nothing of aiming for perfection, it just seemed normal. Maybe a little after that, my life got more complicated, with so much more on my plate, and perfection wasn't second nature anymore.)
Anyway, Malena used this for many years. It's still in lovely condition. Hopefully she will have little punkins of her own that will get to use this as well. 🙂

There are a lot of expressions that we hear now and then; most we think we know the origin of, some we don't. For the most part we just don't ponder the origin of commonplace expressions because they are... common. The first thing I discovered when beginning to read this little gem of a book, was not only hadn't I considered where many common sayings come from, but my preconceived idea of their origin was actually wrong! Kinda embarrassing, but guessing I may not be alone in this. I thought it would be of value then to share some tidbits from this book. Audio format is nice, as you can multitask while listening to this. This is my first attempt at recording reading a book, so any constructive criticism is welcome!
